Kate and Ryan were married in fine style recently at Wellington’s Foxglove Bar and Restaurant, and we went out to Massey Memorial and Seatoun Wharf for the photos. I loved Kate’s sense of style and really enjoyed photographing all the little touches with which she’d personalised their wedding (Ryan, I’m assuming you didn’t have much of a hand in it but correct me if I’m wrong!!). I also loved shooting the preparations at the Wellesley, using the dramatic window light in the dark, almost “Gentleman’s Club” bedrooms and then moving into the wonderful airy bathroom with that great chequered floor! Totally different types of light just steps away from each other, and both beautiful.
Thanks to my clever assistant Mark Berger for joining me. Mark took the photos of Ryan before the ceremony, several of the reception room details and the lovely photo of Kate’s new mother-in-law giving her a squeeze in front of the red doors.
